Today another part of my dream calendar came true: Showing categories in tabs/tabbed view:
All we need is the shortcode (and a tab plugin or module, in this example I was using the tabs module from DIVI theme, but you will find many good WordPress plugins that give you this functionality).
Put the All-in-One Event Calendar shortcodes into the tabs, with the cat_name different in each tab, e.g. [ai1ec view=”agenda” cat_name=”seminar”]. You can also use the tags for the tabbed view. In this example I used the categories for the type of event, and the tags for the subjects. Take a look at all the shortcode options of the All-in-One Event Calendar.
This is it already. What looked as a great deal for so long, now turned out to be peanuts. I removed the category filter, since it doesn’t make sense anymore because we now show all categories in once in our tabs. You need to replace the #post-203 with the number of your post you are using the tabbed view.
1 |
#post-203 .ai1ec-category-filter {display: none;} |
And that’s it. Enjoy your wonderful tabbed view of your precious events and grant your visitors another cherry of pleasurable experience.
PS: If you wonder why I have thumbnails in my agenda view, read this tutorial.
